Abstract

The Atlas of Canada 1,000,000 National Frameworks Data, Census Subdivisions and Population Ecumene data consists of attributed area and linear data representing:
- municipalities, or areas considered to be equivalent to municipalities. These are used for statistical reporting purposes.
- and the ecumene, which identifies areas within the municipalities where population is concentrated.

The boundaries reflect the 2006 Census of Canada.

Purpose

The Atlas of Canada 1,000,000 National Frameworks data are a set of integrated base map layers which form the Atlas of Canada 1,000,000 National Frameworks Data collection. These data have been compiled at a scale of 1:1,000,000 with the primary goal being to indicate correct relative positioning with other frameworks layers rather than absolute positional accuracy.
