CanTopo, 2nd edition, now available!

This second release of next-generation topographic maps produced by NRCan includes 85 revised maps at 1:50 000 scale covering areas across Canada, including central and northern Ontario, Baffin Island and the central Arctic.
Vancouver 2010 Olympic Wall Map: This special edition 1:250 000 scale topographic map was produced to support the upcoming Vancouver 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games. This large-format wall map provides broad, up-to-date coverage of the Winter Games region in British Columbia.

Paper copies of all Canadian Topographic Maps are also available through Regional Distributors of the Canada Map Office, and through Certified Map Printers who ensure local, high quality, on-demand plotting of topographic maps.
New CanTopo product now available!

CanTopo is the new generation of topographic maps being produced by NRCan. This digital cartographic product originates from the best available data sources covering the Canadian territory and offers a quality cartographic product in vector and raster format that complies with international Geomatics standards. CanTopo digital maps are multipurpose and can be utilized in a multitude of scenarios ranging from emergency response and natural resource management, to geographical education and planning a safe backcountry camping expedition. Plotted versions of CanTopo can also be used along with GPS receivers as an additional aid or digital files can be integrated into some receivers using independent software.
Toporama, 2nd edition, now available!

Toporama is a digital topographic reference product developed by NRCan. Toporama integrates the best available data sources that cover the Canadian landmass to provide quality topographical information in raster format. It aims to provide a symbolic and current representation of topographical features over the entire Canadian landmass. Toporama datasets are geo-referenced raster images that can be combined to cover an area of interest or serve as background data for various applications. This can be of significant interest to users of global positioning systems (GPS), navigators, hikers, and tourists who, without being Geomatics specialists, are nevertheless comfortable with digital topographic data.
Please take note that the Toporama Web site located at http://toporama.cits.rncan.gc.ca is closed. We encourage our clients to use the Atlas of Canada for visualization and the GeoGratis Website for access and download of Toporama topographic raster files for personal and professional use.
CanVec new release, 4th edition now available!

CanVec is a digital cartographical reference product generated by Natural Resources Canada. CanVec offers a complete Canadian coverage by consolidating data from the best available sources. CanVec is a quality vector data that complies with international Geomatics standards. This new release offers 181 new and 4,368 modified or corrected for discrepancies datasets. These datasets are generated from Geobase National Hydro Network (NHN) and National Road Network (NRN), Mapping of the North project, metrification of contours and elevation points and Canadian Geographic Name Data Base (CGNDB).

Please take note that Toporama (http://toporama.cits.rncan.gc.ca) web interface is definitely closed. However for those who have access directly to the image files this will still be possible until March 31st, 2009. We encourage you to use the Toporama version find on the Atlas of Canada.
